Hi everyone- just wanted to double check- Maggie has been on restrictions for almost 3 months (no PE, no recess, no dance class, no PT, no OT etc) since her surgery August 27 to attach the VEPTR to her spine. Today she started to complain at the end of the school day that her back felt funny, hurt and then felt fine, then funny then good. At one point she said I think it is moving and then going back in place. Her VEPTR lump doesn't seem to have moved or grown- it is barely noticeable. She doesn't seem to have problems moving around. She decided not to go to her girl scouts meeting because the leader had said they were going to do some "field day activities" running, playing with a parachute etc things that Maggie can't do right now- and Maggie did not want to have to be "the adult helper" again or go later for the arts activity. I have pressed her several times if that was the reason maybe that her back all of a sudden feels funny but she is insistent that its not. Thoughts? WE have X-rays tomorrow to send down to Dr. Emans (we thought to get restrictions lifted!?).
